My many computers

I won't lie. Over my life span I've collected a ton of PCs. But I think you'd agree with me that it wouldn't be all that interesting if I just listed some boring old systems nobody cared about. So, yeah. I won't do that. I'll just list the few that stood out the most to me, even if I still don't have them.

So let's begin, shall we?

Windows/DOS systems

These first two systems were pre-built.

Alienware X51 R2 (My main system)
CPU : Intel Core i3-4150 @ 3.50 GHz
RAM : 12 GB
Operating System : Windows 10 Home (64-bit)
Video : Nvidia GTX 745 w/ 4 GB
Case : Mini-ITX Alienware Case
Hard Drive : 1 TB
Optical Drive : DVD-RW
Internet Browser : Google Chrome
Extras : Integrated audio and ethernet
Comments : I've gotten great use out of it over the years, but it's only an okay-ish system- even when I first bought it back in 2015. Admittedly I didn't know any better and I probably could've gotten a far better system for the same price if I knew what I was doing. Nowadays it's pretty old and battered, so I'm looking to upgrade soon.

Unisys MPI 4663
CPU : Intel i486 DX2 @ 66 MHz
L2 Cache : 256k
RAM : 16 MB
Operating System : MS-DOS 7.1
Video : S3 805 w/ 1 MB
Audio : Creative Sound Blaster 16
Case : Some weird proprietary case
Hard Drive : 210 MB
Optical Drive : 52x CD-ROM
Comments : The VIA chipset really screwed the system over, resulting in pretty poor performance. It's really only suitable for simpler DOS games, like Duke Nukem II or Jazz Jackrabbit. Anything remotely demanding like Doom results in choppy gameplay, which is a shame since Doom's why I bought the system for the first place. I even got one of those 5x86 upgrade chips and it still ran like crap. Unsurprisingly, I don't have this system anymore, but I'm hoping to build my own 486 at some point.

The next few systems were custom built by me.

My 1st Windows 98 Machine
Motherboard : Asus P2B-VT
CPU : Intel Pentium III-EB @ 600 MHz
RAM : 128 MB
Operating System : Windows 98 SE
Video : ATI Rage 128 Pro w/ 32 MB & 2x 3dfx Voodoo 2s w/ 12 MB in SLI
Audio : Creative Sound Blaster Live!
Network : Generic PCI ethernet card
Case : Generic, mid-size ATX case in beige
Hard Drive : 120 GB (Overkill for Windows 98)
Optical Drives : 52x CD-RW & 6x DVD-ROM
Internet Browser : Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.20 (Last version available for Windows 98)
Comments : The first system I ever built. In around late 2017 I replaced this system with a much better system, so I don't have it anymore. Looking back it was a pretty crappy system, besides the Voodoo 2 cards. That was mainly down to the VIA chipset the motherboard used, which caused plenty of issues. To put it nicely, I wouldn't recommend motherboards with a VIA chipset...

My 2nd Windows 98 Machine
Picture
Motherboard : Intel SE440BX-2
CPU : Intel Pentium II @ 450 MHz
RAM : 128 MB
Operating System : Windows 98 SE
Video : Nvidia Riva TNT w/ 16 MB & 2x 3dfx Voodoo 2s w/ 12 MB in SLI
Audio : Aureal Vortex 2 & Creative Sound Blaster AWE64 Gold
Network : 3Com 3C905B-TX
Case : Antec VSK-4000B
Hard Drive : 20 GB
Optical Drives : 2x 48x CD-ROMs
Internet Browser : Microsoft Internet Explorer 5
Comments : This was my updated Windows 98 system. Despite being inferior in some ways, it was still a lot better in general compared to my first system. Unfortunately, I don't have this system anymore.

My Pentium 166 Machine
Picture
Motherboard : Gigabyte GA-586HX
CPU : Intel Pentium @ 166 MHz
RAM : 32 MB
Operating System : Windows 95B
Video : Cirrus Logic GL5446 w/ 2 MB & 3dfx Voodoo w/ 4 MB
Audio : Creative Sound Blaster 16
Network : 3Com 3C905-TX
Case : Generic Baby AT Case in beige
Hard Drive : 6.4 GB
Optical Drives : 24x CD-ROM
Internet Browser : Microsoft Internet Explorer 3
Comments : This is one of my favourite systems and thankfully I still have it. A lot of the parts came from a complete system I was given awhile ago. AT cases are impossible to find where I live, so I was extremely lucky to get the system. I have had the motherboard for ages and it's easily one of the best boards I have. Overall, a brilliant system!

Apple Systems

Power Mac G4
CPU : Power PC G4 @ 350 MHz
RAM : 768 MB
Operating Systems : Mac OS 9.2.2
Video : ATI Rage 128 Pro 16 MB
Hard Drive : IDE 10 GB & SCSI 70 GB
Optical Drive : CR-RW / DVD-ROM
Internet Browser : Classilla 9.3.3
Extras : 5x USB Card, 3x FireWare Card and Adaptec SCSI Controller.
Comments : A pretty cool Apple system. Surprisingly, it's fully upgradable like any normal PC, unlike Apple's modern systems... The SCSI drive was a nice find, too.

iMac G3
CPU : Power PC G3 @ 600 MHz
RAM : 256 MB
Operating System : Mac OS 9.2.2
Video : ATI Rage 128 Ultra 16 MB
Hard Drive : 40 GB
Optical Drive : 4X CD-RW
Internet Browser : Classilla 9.3.3
Comments : My first Mac system. I spent a good amout of time playing the Marathon trilogy on it. :)

Well there you have it, those are some of my systems. This isn't all of my machines though, I'm bound to list more in the future. I have a Commodore 64 and an Amiga 500 too, but since they are standard systems I didn't bother including them in here.
